Welcome to the community. I am excited to share with you the many services that Lake Pointe Medical Center has to offer right here in your neighborhood. Lake Pointe is a 112-bed acute care hospital with many services, a high level of customer satisfaction, an excellent medical staff and caring employees.
Lake Pointe has a rapidly growing medical staff of over 400 physicians and recently earned a high rating in physician and employee satisfaction for the services we provide. In 2009, we were ‘5 Stars’ in overall patient satisfaction for the first time. Our emergency department has been ‘5 Star’ since January, 2008.
In 2009, Lake Pointe was recognized by JD Power And Associates with a Distinguished Healthcare Program Award for Maternity Service Excellence.
Lake Pointe is rapidly expanding its services and presence throughout the region. IN 2003 we completed an expansion that doubled the square footage of the hospital and added or enhanced nearly all services. In 2009, we renovated our Digestive Health Center, which includes HD Technology as part of the new Endoscope Platform in our state-of-the-art four suite center. Our beautiful Labor and Delivery department is complemented by the addition of a Level II Nursery for treatment of babies needing a higher level of care. In 2010 we will expand our Level II Nursery from 6 to 18 beds, and the expansion will include a Level III Nursery, providing a higher level of care to those babies born prematurely. Our Emergency Department sees nearly 30,000 patients a year, includes two trauma rooms and offers a ‘fast track’ patient care area so that non-life threatening emergencies can be treated quickly. We are currently working towards Level IV Trauma designation and Joint Commission Stroke Certification. Our Imaging Services include 64-Slice CTs, open and closed MRIs and digital mammography. For added convenience, we have two full-service diagnostic imaging centers, on in Forney and one in Rockwall offering our community access to high-quality imaging services. Our physicians perform diagnostic cardiac caths and vascular interventions in our Cath Lab. In addition, we have eight beautiful operating rooms where our surgeons perform nearly 400 operations per month. In 2007, Lake Pointe refurbished its 3rd floor and moved its ICU to a new area in the hospital, doubling its capacity to 14 beds.
In addition to all of our changes inside the hospital, we have expanded our outpatient locations and services significantly. These outpatient locations, along with the Hospital, make up a part of the Lake Pointe Health Network. They include:
