ROWLETT, TX – OCTOBER 22, 2007 – Lake Pointe Medical Center today announced that they recently earned Texas Nurse-Friendly
TM hospital designation from the Texas Nurses Association (TNA), a statewide professional organization of nurses. Only 49 facilities in the state of Texas have achieved this distinction to date. There are approximately 581 licensed hospitals in Texas.
TNA’s Nurse-Friendly designation confirms that a hospital has in its practices, policies and 12 essential elements of the ideal nursing practice environment – as defined by nurses and research – in place. These allow nurses to practice safe, quality patient care and to pursue a level of professional development and career satisfaction that retains them in the profession and at the bedside.
“This is truly an outstanding achievement for Lake Pointe Medical Center, its nurses and the community as a whole. We all work together to deliver high-quality patient care each and every day”, states Debbie Moeller, chief nursing officer at Lake Pointe Medical Center. “This recognition signifies our commitment not only quality care for our patients, but to our nurses, those individuals that provide the personal touch to our patients everyday. We are truly blessed to have some of the best nurses in the industry working at Lake Pointe and are honored to be one of only 49 hospitals in the state to be designated Texas Nurse-Friendly
TM.”
