The Physical Medicine Department of Lake Pointe Medical Center offers a wide range of both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs. The department is staffed with Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Technicians, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Registered Nurses and a Respiratory Therapist. We accept most insurance plans as well as worker's compensation.

Occupational Therapy at Lake Pointe Medical Center offers a wide range of both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services designed to enhance the functional independence of each patient. These services may include, but are not lomited to:

Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy at Lake Pointe Medical Center offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for patients needing to regain speech following an injury or health event such as a stroke. They also work with patients who have difficulty in swallowing and/or cognitive deficits and memory problems. Patients may receive training in speech and language skills, cognitive and memory skills, and oral motor musculature strengthening.  Swallow evaluations, including Modifed Barium Swallows, are provided both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac Rehabilitation at Lake Pointe Medical Center offers outpatient rehabilitation for patients who have had a heart attack within the last year, had open heart surgery within the last year, suffer from stable angina or have recently undergone a transplant. Cardiac rehabilitation is a comprehensive, medically supervised 12-week program designed educate and affect lifestyle changes in the areas of exercise, nutrition, stress management, and smoking cessation. The program consists of three, one- hour sessions per week for six to twelve weeks. Each exercise session is monitored and supervised to ensure that each participant is able to exercise safely. The program is designed to teach each participant the principles of safe exercise so that they can continue their exercise upon successful completion of the program.
