Lake Pointe Medical Center's Emergency Department offers emergency services 24 hours a day for your medical needs, whether it is urgent or minor.  With a highly skilled and experienced team of physicians and nurses, we provide personalized care for you and your family.  The Emergency Department consists of 20 treatment rooms designed to enhance the patient treatment process and reduce overall wait times.  

The Emergency Department also offers a Fast Track area, staffed and equipped to treat patients with non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries.  This allows for the more critically ill patients to be treated in a separate area that addresses their special needs.

The Emergency Department also features a MedHost computerized patient tracking system.  This technology helps emergency department staff to treat and track patients more efficiently with the overall goal of reducing patient waiting times.  The tracking system provides real-time electronic patient status that can be confidentially accessed from terminals within the emergency department.  It also provides numerous prompts that assist nursing staff and physicians to continuosuly monitor the patient's treatment process throughout their entire visit.

To handle some of the more acute needs of our community, Lake Pointe contracts with Specialists on Call, providing our staff, physicians and community 24/7 access to critical care neurologists.  This access to critical care neurologists is critical to the timely diagnosis and treatment of a patient in the midst of an acute stroke.  In early 2010, Lake Pointe will become a JCAHO Certified Stroke Center, providing even more comprehensive care in the treatment if acute strokes.
