ROWLETT, TX (June 17, 2011) – Lake Pointe Health Network recently announced the acquisition of the Rowlett Regional Cancer Center. The deal was finalized June 17, 2011.

When it was originally built in 2005, founder Dr. R. Steven Bradfield envisioned a new comprehensive cancer center conveniently located for the regions residents. Construction of the 10,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art cancer facility was completed in February 2008.
The center, which will now be named Lake Pointe Cancer Center, is located in the Lake Pointe Medical Arts building at 7501 Lakeview Parkway, Suite 120 in Rowlett, TX – Phone: 972-526-7555. The center operates the Varian 21ix, one of the most advanced linear accelerators available today. This technology allows the center to offer some of the most sophisticated forms of radiation therapies. These include Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) as well as Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) capabilities. IMRT and IGRT are two significant innovations in radiation therapy technology currently used to treat cancer. By combining daily imaging to confirm the size and location of the tumor before each treatment session, radiation oncologists are able to more precisely treat tumors throughout the body. As a result, patients receive less radiation exposure which preserves these tissues and minimizes potential side effects and complications.
