Rowlett, TX – JUNE 20, 2007 –  Lake Pointe Medical Center today unveiled plans for a new health network to serve the residents of Rockwall, Rowlett, Royse City and the surrounding communities.  Anchored by the 105-bed acute care Lake Pointe Medical Center, which has served the area for 20 years, the Network will provide new services and facilities for the community.

    The Lake Pointe Health Network demonstrates Lake Pointe Medical Center’s vision to extend the hospital’s long-established reputation for quality, customer service and resources to other types of needed health care services.

    The addition of both the Lake Pointe Imaging Center and the Lake Pointe Sleep Lab on West Ralph Hall Parkway was the first such outreach in Rockwall.  The Imaging Center includes 10,000 square feet of state-of-the-art imaging equipment including a 64 slice CT, High-Field Open MRI, Digital X-ray, Digital Mammography, Ultrasound, and Bone Densitometry.  The Lake Pointe Sleep Lab includes four private testing suites, each with private bathrooms and all the comforts of home.  Both facilities are designed to feel more like a spa than a healthcare facility, providing the utmost in comfort to our patients.

Other planned facilities and services within the new network include:

• Lake Pointe Medical Partners – Family Practice, located in a one-story medical office building located at 1101 West Interstate 30 in Royse City.  The building will house primary and specialty care physician offices beginning in the summer of 2007.
• Lake Pointe Medical Arts, a two-story, 50,000 square-foot medical office building located at Chiesa Road and Lakeview Parkway in Rowlett.  The building will house a four-bed sleep lab, wound care center, dialysis center, cancer treatment center, and additional medical office space to accommodate Lake Pointe Medical Partners – Family Practice.  It is scheduled to open in September of 2007.

    Lake Pointe Medical Center has been a part of the community since 1987.  Over $60 million in capital has been invested in the facility since 2001, including an emergency room expansion, expansion to eight surgery suites, addition of a cardiac catheterization lab, construction of a new 14-bed intensive care unit, the addition of two 64-slice CT scanners, fully digital imaging, the addition of a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and refurbishment of all patient rooms throughout the hospital.
