The current expansion project at Lake Pointe Medical Center is designed with our customers' needs in mind.  As the hospital's walls are expanded, so are the array of services and programs we can provide to our dynamically growing community.  This means more options and excellent customer service for our patients.  Here are just a few highlights.

Emergency Department - Our current 8-bed emergency department (E.D.) will soon accommodate 20 beds and will have the capacity to handle 36,000 patients per year.  The expanded E.D. will feature rooms dedicated to critical care, orthopedics, OB/GYN, pediatrics, examination/treatment, and Fast Track.  Our new helipad makes the E.D. a vital resource in critical situations.

Labor & Delivery - Over 700 babies are born each year at Lake Pointe Medical Center.  To provide the latest in comprehensive care for these infants and their mothers, our women's and perinatal area will more than double in size from 8,600 square feet to 18,288 square feet.  It will include a full complement of labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum rooms, traditional labor rooms, two operating rooms for cesarean births, a 17-bed level I nursery, and a 5-bed level II nursery with isolation and examination rooms.  This family-centered unit will feature 14 private postpartum rooms and a new family waiting room.

Cardiology - The new cardiac catheterization laboratory will offer diagnostic studies on patients with coronary problems while also providing peripheral vascular studies that employ blood flow exams to detect clots and other obstructions.

Radiology - Lake Pointe offers advanced imaging technology to diagnose a wide range of medical conditions and traumatic injuries.  After the expansion, our current level of ten imaging systems will increase to 17-including mammography, bone density, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and X-ray.

Surgery - Our surgery department will be expanded from four operating rooms to eight.  There are currently five recovery beds; with the expansion, there will be 16.
